Member-only story
Let’s have a good cry, together.
Well, I don’t mean it literally, but here I am, trying to take my writing seriously.
Why?
For one, Medium is charging me a good deal of money to be a member, so that should be a good enough reason. Right?
Well, let’s not also forget, that I do enjoy writing. I’m just lazy, unfortunately.
So, I figured I could write about something I am quite familiar with; self-induced sadness.
Laughing at that myself, but no, it isn’t funny.
Anyways, I have a couple of songs that get me through the process, and yes, I have a whole playlist. Only if you are interested.
Patterns — Chelan & NNAVY

“Baby, listen,
Just tell me when you’re ready
’Cause I’ve been waiting
For you to be committed”
How do you start a song like that and not expect me to be hung on it for life?
I think the first time I heard the song, I was going through some love-related issues, and those lines just said everything to me.
“Can only sit back and let the minutes pass,
On a day like this where it all goes bad…
This is no time to leave me, the pain I behold
And don’t call a doctor, I’m loving these lows.”
I heard that line, and my mind just went ‘That is you, Toluwani!’
I think I am one person that does not reject the emotion called sadness, you probably figured when i mentioned ‘self-induced sadness’
I think I do more of basking in it than trying to change it.
Closure — Summer Walker

“Hope to un-feel what we keep on feeling
But you can’t un-break my broken heart”
WHAT?!
I do not have much to say, but yeah, those lines speak directly to my soul, every time.
